GUARANTY FUND ASSESSMENTS

States routinely make assessments from authorized insurers that operate in their state in order to make payments on behalf of failed insurers. The following information is from the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds Website. However, the national, annual figures do not reflect assessments:

• made by New York’s State Fund
• collected in connection with Hurricane Andrew-related insolvencies
• made by the Workers Comp Funds of N.J. and P.A. or
• collected by Louisiana in years 2002 and 2003

Further, the 1978 figure also includes amounts collected prior to that year. Please be aware of the notes included in the state’s aggregate assessment information.
